What is Croquet?

Croquet is a sport which combines brain play and mild physical exercise it is fast-paced, non-contact, highly-strategical game which is played by all irrespective of age & gender.

The strategic part of the game is very important and can take much longer to perfect. Croquet has often been compared to a chess game on grass or perhaps a game of war.

Croquet sport is making a significant contribution in fostering international friendship among people. Transcending national borders and cultural differences. This is a contribution, that is becoming increasingly important in todays global society.

Croquet was introduced as an olympic sport in the 1900 Paris Summer Olympic games but never played in the Olympics again.

Now, Croquet is played by more than 20 millions people in worldwide. England USA, Australia & France have strong Croquet associations with millions of players. As this overwhelming number indicates its popularity how croquet is penetrating trans-national and is growing at fast rate in its history.

HOW TO PLAY CROQUET?

Steps to play the croquet

STEP-1

  • Each turn consists of one and only one strike.The striker's balls may cause other balls to move and score points.
  • The Striker must strike the ball with one of the mallet's two striking faces,never with side face or shaft.

STEP-2

  • Turns are playe in the sequence blue,red,black and yellow balls.
  • If after scoring twelve points the game is tied or six all,hoop3# contested again to break the tie.

  • The side that wins a coin toss chooses balls.The blue ball plays first.The play is started by striking a ball with a mallet.

Step 3

  • It is played between two sides.The blue and black balls versus the red and yellow balls.
  • In doubles each player plays the same ball througout the game.The object is to be the first side to score seven points.
  • Each hoop is scored by only one ball,so that both sides are always contesting the same hoop.

Step 4

  • This sequence of colours is pointed on the peg.
  • Each turn consists of one and only one strike.The striker's ball may cause other balls to move and score points.
  • However,the striker must never strike any ball other than striker's ball.

Step 5

  • The striker must play using the mallet only,and must not play a stroke while touching any ball.
  • The striker must strike the ball with one of the mallet's two striking faces,never with side face or shaft.
  • The striker must strike the ball cleanly and only once during the stroke.
